The ASAC Mission is to provide a comfortable, friendly and safe social environment where members and older adults primarily from the former Town of Ancaster can increase their social contracts, learn, participate in recreational and fitness activities, and enhance their opportunities to achieve a total sense of well-being.
The specific goals of ASAC will shift from time to time to meet the needs of older adults in a changing society, but will focus on:
• Providing a friendly, stimulating ‘Meeting Place’ for Members and older adults in the community
• Activities designed to encourage social interaction and reduce older adult personal isolation
• Developing opportunities for Members to learn, remain healthy and adapt to social and personal changes
• Encouraging older adults and Members to participate in community activities
• Advocating on behalf of ASAC Members and older adults
• Actively promoting volunteerism in the communities ASAC serves.
